The year 2006 has been a good Kaizer year. The gas mask band with the oil barrels released a live DVD and a live album from Vega in Copenhagen. They have played 77 concerts, 51 of those outside of Norway. And additionally, the book Kontroll På Kontinentet was released, written and photographed by Jan Zahl and Paal Audestad. Thus a bit of everything.

- You could probably call this a kind of summarization year. Kaizer locomotive engineer The Jackal joyfully looks back at the year that has passed.

- The live DVD from one of the Vega concerts we did in 2005 was a highlight for us. It's nice to have a good documentation of how things sounded and looked like when we were in the middle of a heated tour like that. We had hoped that it would sell a bit more, but the market for music DVDs is pretty slow generally, so that's probably just the way it is. It's gonna take a long while till we do it again, but it's unbelievably cool to have made something like this anyway.

- 77 concerts this year, 51 of them outside of Norway?

- Yes, we worked a lot this year. The reason that there's less concerts in Norway is that there's fewer people living here than abroad. Additionally, we played pretty big concert here as well, so that many got to see us anyway, all over the country, actually. And we also try to hold back a little as well, so that we and the people don't get sick of us.

- It's gonna be a fairly quiet 2007 now?

- Yes, we will not play live with Kaizers in 2007. As we said before, there's some solo projects that will be out this winter/spring, so Terje, Geir, Øyvind and Rune will be out and on tour with their respective bands. So we won't get rusty now! The main thing for Kaizers will be to record a new album next fall. We're looking forward to that!

- So, what were the highlights?

- Well, I guess I can't get around mentioning Roskilde, with 50000 people. This concert also had its frightening moments, but all in all, that was a kick of dimensions. Apart from that, the book was great. Jan and Paal have done a great job, and it's nice for both us and them that the book is selling pretty well.

Yes, so we can only wish everybody a great 2007!
