Kaizers Orchestra will play a concert at Cementen in Stavanger on Friday, May 4. Tickets will be out for sale at Cementen on March 28, 7 p.m.He got to smell some sawdust when he was with Kaizer-friend Micke From Sweden at his gig at Cementen this week, and this made the Jackal feel like getting into the circus again.
- Hehe, yeah, I understand that it can seem like that, Janove self says, it's not so strange that it tickles a bit after four months without live shows.
- You have talked a lot about not playing live this year, with Sziget festival in Hungary in August as the only exception, so why this Cementen concert now?
- Actually, that is very simple. We will be practising in Stavanger that week and thought it could be nice to conclude that with a concert. We are preparing the recording for the album, practising new songs, and at that time we thought it could be fun to play a concert at Cementen again. A bit of a low key affair, like in the old days, actually we started our career in the pub and would like to still be able to play in small places when we want to. And Cementen is a special place for us. Our Ompa Til Du Dør Spellemanns-award is there, and some more!
- Will this be a presentation of the new material, like you presented and tried out new songs at the same place to nights before you traveled to Bergen to record Evig Pint in 2002?
- No, not really. We will probably play some completely new songs, but we won't do such a "testing of new material" as we did in 2002. This will just be an intimate concert, because we want to maintain our live-form and give the fans a surprise.
Tickets will be available at Cementen on Wednesday, March 28, 7 p.m. Tickets will cost 200 Kroner, first come, first served, and there will be at max 2 tickets per person.
