Kaizers Orchestra have announced some of next year's concerts. Now the countdown starts!Kaizers' fourth album is planned for release Feb. 18, and on the leap day almost two weeks later, the band will start their release tour. This time they selected Bergen as opening city, after a few tour-openings in Siddis-Land (Stavanger). After that, they will come to Oslo, Sentrum Scene, on March 8 and Folken in Stavanger on March 15.
- The band was founded in Bergen, we hit our first oil barrel there and got our first fans, so it is natural to start a new great tour there, Geir Kaizers says, on the phone from Berlin, where he is recording the fourth Kaizers-album at the moment, together with the rest of the bucket-ballet.
- You are looking forward to touring again, after a pretty long break?
- Yes, sure, but it's still a bit early to talk about that yet. We have just started recording the material that we're planning to play for the people next year, so first we must really get going with that before we can concentrate on our live-form.
- You will play at Arenum in Bergen, some will claim this is a daring choice?
- Well, maybe. Normally we play at Teatergarasjen, but this is not available now, so we had to look for something else. And as we didn't want to go down in size, we chose Arenum. This is a new venue that both we and bergenLive are anxious to try out. Bergen is great to play in anyway, so this will be amazing. We hope that folk come over and sing along in best tradition!
- How is it going in the studio in Berlin?
- It's going fine now. We had a bit of a half-troubled start. Things didn't work out in the studio and we were close to getting on the plane and leave, but Mark got some order in the stuff and got in a new mixer here, and now everything goes smoothly. Planet Roc is a perfect Kaizers studio, actually, in real DDR style, and Berlin is a great town, so we're having a good time and are working hard to make our best record so far!
