To celebrate a common release date for "Maskineri" in Scandinavia, Kaizers Orchestra will play a release concert at Loppen in the district Christiania in Copenhagen on February 18. You can win tickets and the trip there! To mark the occasion of the unique Copenhagen concert (that will be broadcast live), P3 organizes a competition where you can win the trip and a concert ticket. 100 lucky winners will be selected. All you need to do is to tax your little gray matter, come up with a insightful and nicely verbalized question and send it to p3sessions@nrk.no!
- We are busy practicing at the moment, Geir Kaizer tells us on the phone from Bryne when we ask about how the Kaizers team is doing in this exciting pre-release time.
- This is always a nerve-racking phase. Most of all, we are looking forward to having the album out, and to show people what Kaizers anno 2008 is all about!
- Do you fear the critics, or do you rise above that? What is your recipe these days?
- Well, that varies. Som critics come up with insightful judgments that we think are interesting, while others neither have the time nor do they want to understand what it is about. First and foremost, we are very happy that we have so many alert fans by now who are capable of making up their own mind about Kaizers. They know us much better than the critics, and so they actually have a more qualified foundation to say what they think. But the most important is what we ourselves think, and that we feel that we manage to surpass the things every time, and we feel that now, so this is perfect!
- So the concert on February 18, live on the radio and so on, what do you think about that?
- As people know by now for sure, we attach great prestige to playing good concert, this is an art we really want to master. To listen to live concerts on the radio can never match being there at the concert place, at least not in our case, but as I said: We are busy practicing the new songs at the moment. We want to be aon our best when we return from the rest and have the possibility to shine on Norwegian radio!
