Sorry, I just can't find the time for a good and accurate translation at the moment, so here's a quick and dirty version:It's gonna be a special weekend in the Stavanger region. There's never been so many big and small legends for the Stavanger audience during one weekend. On Friday, the maybe most influential solo artist comes to Stavanger stadion on his "Never Ending Tour", and on Saturday, all big and small Stavanger bands/artists will play their best-known songs at Vaulen.
You shouldn't compare the Stavanger bands including Kaizers Orchestra with Bob Dylan, but they are well-known and liked in Rogaland and have strong local affiliations.
- Additionally, most of them plan on playing their hits in a recognizable version, comments Geir Kaizer dryly.
- We have seen Dylan several times and like him, but we are not Dylanophobe. Would be nice to hear him play his songs the way they are/were, and not just rely on if you might recognize the lyrics. But apart from that you have to respect the man for that. Talk about sing-along artist with anti-sing-along attitude. He could make a whole stadion sing along, you could hear that up to the moon, but it's not interesting for him, he's more interested in giving his songs a new content every time. He's actually a pretty narrow artist who fills stadions. That's pretty cool.
- And then the local legends Saturday at Vaulen!
- Yep! Lots of highlights! The arrangement starts at 4 pm and all the bands use the same backline, so there's no long change overs, at least that's the plan, so things should go quickly. Will be interesting to see if it works. It's a funny concept with a "best of" Stavanger district through the last 50 years festival. We are looking forward to watching and playing.
- You'll play three-four songs?
- Yes, we thought about one per album, so that's gonna be four.
