Kaizers will play at the CC8 event in Sarpsborg this weekend! The climate concert on June 7 will be nothing like a usual concert. To put the focus on the climate issue, Hafslund and Bellona have invited several of the biggest Norwegian artists.
The 12 hour marathon concert takes place in unique and pretty surroundings in the park around Hafslund' main yard. This is nowadays a protected cultural monument and one of the few well-preserved estates from a past time in Norwegian history.
- This will be a step up from Glenghuset, yes, where we played about once a week for a while, Rune Kaizer says. He is actually most known for taking part in the climate study that Bellona arranged during the press conference for the CC8 event last week, but he is also the drummer of Kaizers Orchestra.
- Yes, I didn't know whether the sea level had risen 0.8 cm or 0.7 cm in the last 100 years, so I'm probably not that smart.
- No, have you heard about the bass player who locked his keys in the car?
- No.
- He had to break the window to get the drummer out!
- Funny, I have to leave now, I got things to...
- One more, do you know how many drummers you need to change a light bulb?
- No, I have to...
- None, there's machines to do that nowaday!
- Great, bye!
But Rune can still learn. Club de Madrid, environmental foundation Bellona and Hafslund ASA joined forced to arrange an international climate conference in Norway on June 5 and 6; "Climate Conference 08: Technology and Finance in Climate Cooperation". The conference starts at the World Environment Day and will gather 100 especially chosen international representatives from politics, industry, academics and organisations at Hafslund Hovedgård just outside of Sarpsborg.
- By the way, have you heard about the drummer who entered the university?
We neither.
