The opening concert of this fall's tour at Folken in Stavanger on October 16 is sold out, so there will be an extra concert in the oil town, and the tour start has been preponed to October 15!- We have already pointed out that we will play a different selection of songs this time, explore our repertoire a bit, so in a way this is a big sign of confidence that people buy tickets, Janove "The Jackal" Kaizer says.
- You are often called a typical "album band", you never had the big radio hits, but your fans know and like often more than just the singles, is this the reason why you do this?
- I think it is true that our fans know our albums very well. Overall, the atmosphere in the business is a bit like in the 60s at the moment. It's singles and hit songs that count, especially in the download business, the album format is getting too slow and onerous as it seems, and so it's hard to get it out to the people. We have made some solid albums in our career, and we hope that our fans like it when we want to play the songs from the records that we haven't played a lot live before. I think this is interesting both for us and for the fans.
- Why now?
- That's a combination of different reasons. As I said, we think that the fans want to hear us play some other songs than we use to play, they like the versions on the records and will be interested in hearing how these work out live, in any case that's what we think about bands that we like. And then we are a bit bored of playing this "greatest hits" parade, and also we like to have the challenge to make these songs work out live. The reason why we haven't played many of them before is that we had the feeling that we didn't manage to get them sound good enough live. It's time now to give these songs another chance, we have developed, and maybe we are better with another type of songs now than we were three years ago. That's what we will find out about in fall!
