Kaizers Orchestra will release the live record "250 prosent" on October 10th!

The album will only be released as vinyl, and so it will only be available in stores that sell this format. Additionally, it will also be sold at the merchandise on the band's upcoming tour.

The recordings are from the concerts abroad that Kaizers did during their "Maskineri" tour in April this year, more precisely from the GAS region, thus Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This is the track list:

Side A:
  1. KGB
  2. Apokalyps meg
  3. Container
  4. Maestro
  5. Dieter Meyers Inst.
Side B:
  1. Maskineri
  2. Volvo i Mexico
  3. Enden av november
  4. Sigøynerblod
  5. 170
The album will be released on Kaizers' own label, Kaizerecords, but it will be pressed and distributed by the vinyl-loving company Black Soul Family from Jæren, starting with 2000 copies. We asked the executive director Jostein Ueland about his thoughts on this release.

- A live record, with the slightly pretentious title 250 percent? We were a bit sceptical about this at first, because live records can often be a mixed experience and are almost reserved for the hardcore fans, but we have to admit that in this case, our scepsis was a bit shameful...

- Why that?

- After we had heard it, the attitude changed. A record with such nerve, live reproduction, and not least so good sound, that didn't give us a real choice. It's a joy for us to be able to release this one.

- So, how is vinyl doing in today's record business in Norway?

- We experience a hesitating, partly defensive attitude towards vinyl, from some dealers. But our experience is that if the product is sufficiently solid, especially the core fans are raring to buy it, and here the Kaizer fans are unique and a living example. And regarding sales and sales numbers of for example vinyl or other "un-current" formats, this brings to the fore to what degree the so-called official album charts of VG represent a truthful image of what is important in Norway. This album can never get into these charts, no matter how good it sells, and this is actually a paradox, but then that's the way it is for now.

The chief himself, Janove Kaizer, is the one who spent hours listening to the GAS part of the tour in order to pick the tracks he thought were best.

- We had a digital mixer with us on this tour, this means that we could record all concerts that we did in spring, so when KBK, our German booking office, suggested that we could bring a release with us on the upcoming European tour, we put two and two together and came up with this idea. A very logical thing to do, actually. The recordings were lying around anyway.

- You have released a live record before, "Live at Vega", with 23 songs, all recorded the same night at the same concert. On "250 Prosent", it's 10 songs from five different concerts?

- That's right. I tried to adapt to the way one listens to the album during the selection, and picked the songs that I thought were best and most interesting to listen to. Not necessarily the ones that were played most accurately, but rather those that got something, that are simmering somehow, and where the atmosphere between band and audience is special. So in the end we ended up with these ten.

"Ompa til du dør" and "Kontroll på kontinentet" were also planned for the album originally, but they were taken out because of space restrictions.
Also note that this album will be available on iTunes and other digital webstores as well. If you buy it digitally, you will get "Ompa til du dør" as extra track.

The preliminary list of dealers who will sell the album in their stores only:

Ivar Skei - Sandnes
Apollon - Bergen
Platekompaniet - Stavanger

Other dealers that sell in the stores and via mail are:

The Garden - Tønsberg
Big Dipper - Olso
Record World - Sandnes
Platekompaniet.no

P.S.: Because of troubles with uploading pictures on this site, we couldn't upload the cover of the album here. Sorry for that. We will try to put up a link to it soon!
