The film has now been uploaded to YouTube (three episodes). Check out the link, or search for "geezaproductions"!

The best person to do the job is one of the gang, that's how it has been for Julius Caesar back then and this is how it still is for Kaizers Orchestra, no comparison, by the way, except for that part about control over the continent of course. Kaizers' guitar player, in any case, exhibits some unexpected, or at least up to now never used, talents, because he has made a 25-minute documentary about the recording and mixing of the Kaizers song "Die Polizei", from the album "Våre Demoner" which will be out April 27!

- As I said to Dagbladet.no today (where you can also watch a five-minute clip of the film, editor's note), we are part of a pretty low-budget industry at the time being. This means in praxis that if Lydverket (a Norwegian TV show, translator's note) with their money from TV licenses doesn't come to film us, there will be nobody who comes and films us. Of course we know people in the film and TV industry, but it hurts to alway have to ask competent people to work almost for free. This is why I thought I could rather take this in my own hands this time, and make a Kaizers version of a Kaizers studio recording.

- Do you have any experience from this side of a film camera?

- No, I've never held a camera before, and even less worked with an editing program. But I like movies and especially music documentaries on TV a lot, so I just thought - how difficult can it be?

- So how did you do this?

- Everything is filmed with one camera, without extra lighting or setting up things in whatever way. I didn't even have an external microphone, this is why you can hear it when I clear my throat while Janove is interviewed, he he. After doing the filming, I tried to teach myself how to use the editing program Final cut express by watching some youtube tutorials. It worked so-so. I only know what two of the things in the tools panel are, but it turned out that I didn't need to know more to cut, so that worked out alright. Seems that dogma is only the first name, he he.

- So the documentary is mostly about the song "Die Polizei", why that one?

- Mostly because of practical reasons. We had to work a bit on the arrangement of the song, because Janove had a new approach to it with respect to how we had done it live. As my contribution was pretty straight with respect to the live version, I didn't need to take part in the plodding phase. This is how I had the idea to rather document the process of organizing the song, from the beginning to the finish. It's a magnificent song, with a lot of things on top, so there was quite a lot to document. In addition, I wanted to do a bit of a backlash to this existing doctrine of MTV clipping, where everything is so fast cut and happy and party and raise-the-roof-like. I wanted to give an impression of the reality and slowness that such a process is related to. You have to cultivate the DIY-spirit and independence as much as possible, if you can!

- So now the 1000-kroner-question, how and when can we see this masterpiece completely?

- Eh, I wanted to upload it to YouTube in best quality, but I/we didn't manage to do that yet. Might be that you have to wait a few days, but it's right around the corner, I just need to find the right youtube tutorial first!

In the meantime, you can watch a clip at dagbladet.no!
