(Photo: Duperman and Mink are well underway with the studio recordings, and so far they like what they hear!)Kaizers Orchestra took the trip out to the pearl of the west coast, Bergen, and are well underway with the album recordings in Duper Studio.
- We are well underway here, yes. Duper has moved from Møhlenpris to Sandviken, so we have finally taken the step up to the sunny side, a success that we have dreamed about since our student days! Rune Mink Kaizer says.
- What is the grand scheme of Kaizers Orchestra's album recordings this time, tell us!
- This time, we ally ourselves with both Dupermen, that is both Dupeman himself, Jørgen Træen, AND Sølvreven, Yngve Leidulv Sætre. Jørgen produced our first three albums, as is well-known. He helped further refine our sound and is probably the closest you can get to be a "seventh Kaizer". Yngve is something like a grand old man in the producer sector, he has worked with most of the big artists in Norway, and he produced, among other things, our latest release "Våre Demoner". In addition, we have two assistants who help with setting up the microphones, rigging stuff, tracking, making coffee, tidying and what not. So basically, we have arranged perfect conditions to create the best possible record. A professional setting from beginning to end, so if this goes wrong now, we have no one to blame other than ourselves.
- And how has it been so far?
- Just fine. We're following the classic Kaizer recipe: The songs are written, arranged, and practiced beforehand, so now we all rig up and press record, count to four - except for "Femtakt filosofi" where we count to five - and that's it.
- And how is the progress?
Good. We are on schedule, which means a song per day. Right now, we have just recorded the backing for a song called "Psycho under min hatt". It is a hot-tempered song that keeps a gasping pace. Calls for cramps in the arms, but fortunately I'm a marathon runner and well trained!
