(Photo: Kai Ove Stokkeland wearing the new Bryne jersey!)With joy and gladness and with a wide smile on the gas mask, Kaizers Orchestra enter a collaboration with Bryne Fotballklubb!
Kaizers Orchestra's front line consists of proud Jaeren boys and Bryne supporters. Even though not all of the three have an equally impressive football résumé as singer Janove Ottesen, who played for all age groups up to the A-team and even has some age-specific international matches to answer for, there is no doubt which team is the one that counts!
- I basically grew up at Bryne stadium, soccer was the main focus in my life up into my teens, both I and Geir still play soccer and stay up-to-date, so from that perspective, this is a natural collaboration for us, Janove Kaizer tells Kaizernews.
- Football and rock music fit together: Oasis have Manchester City, Iron Maiden have West Ham, Elton John owned Oxford. And apart from that, we probably have something in common with Bryne Fotballklubb in that we both are rather unlikely successes, from a small place, somehow underdogs, and a breath of fresh air!
- So will you be in the stadium a lot this season?
- We'll probably stop by when we have the opportunity. This will be an exciting season, with many local players on the team. We wish Bryne good luck with the season and look forward to follow. And we hope that our beloved logo brings luck once it is now attached to the Bryne jerseys!
