Pulpit Festival is Stavanger's newly established contribution to the music festival summer and will take place for the first time August 19 and 20. Kaizers will open the ball with a short appearance.

- This will be more a sign than a concert, actually, Geir Kaizer tells us.

- We heard of the festival through our Folken contact Jon Yngvar, and when he asked us if we could imagine to show up we really liked the idea of doing that. We share the opinion that it is high time for Stavanger to also show up in serious music festival business. The surroundings have both the audience necessary and lots of local talents to play there.

- But why only a short opening appearance?

- The thing is that strictly speaking we can't show up there at all. We play a full concert at Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim the same day, and so we are limited in flexibility regarding when and how long we can play. Thus we found out that we could make a point out of opening the festival with a short set before we throw ourselves on the plane up to Trondheim. Nice to bring in a local element before one switches over to those from out of town. A brutal and soft start to spread assurance and joy.

Otherwise we can announce that Ted Winter's Skambankt will play at Pulpit Festival on Saturday.

- It's the question if there will be another festival next year after we have played all time's biggest explosion of a gig on the 16th (?!?), Ted Winters says about that. He's always being tough when he is together with bass player Don Fist. Actually he is pretty well-behaved.
