Kaizers Orchestra's third album is ready. The war still isn't over.

Two and a half years have gone by since the last album, and a lot has happened in the Kaizers-camp lately. The band has toured and composed diligently during the last two years, and signed an international record contract (license agreement) with Universal Germany in December of 2004. With this, Kaizers Orchestra go from the world's (about) smallest to the world's biggest record company with this release.

Maestro will come out August 15th all over northern Europe, i.e. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Austria and France. The release will be followed up by a European tour in these countries in September/October. A fortaste for this new Kaizers material will be available by July 4th when the single-release and title song Maestro is released as single (with some bonus tracks). In Norway, the album Maestro will be released by the band's own company Kaizerecords, and it will be distributed through Universal Sonet, while Universal Germany has the licence for the album in the rest of Europe.

Maestro consists of 12 tracks, all recorded and mixed at Duper Studio in Bergen, with Jørgen Træen as producer, and a nice team of guest musicians that contributed. Among others, two born-and-bred gypsy musicians from Bulgaria were in to play trumpet, sax and clarinett.

According to the band itself, Maestro expresses the combination of the energy and playfulness of the first album Ompa Til Du Dør with the heaviness and routine of the second album Evig Pint, while at the same time, new elements have also found their way into the Kaizers world. The band itself feels that they have written better songs than ever and that they really perfected their expressiveness with this release. Kaizers Orchestra in the year 2005 is an experienced, but at the same time hungry band, and this album combines the safety and the ferocity in a balanced way.

The lyrics revolve around an institution, Dieter Meyer's Inst. An institution that apparently treats psychiatric patients, but that can seem to have its own peculiar agenda on closer examination. The director of the institution has many names, Maestro, Papa, Daddy, Dieter Meyer, he seems always present, but actually, nobody has ever seen him. Does he even exist?
