"Live at Vega" is Kaizers Orchestra's first live album and a statement as well as a Norwegian music-historic manifest.Press release from Emi: Live at Vega it was proven how far an alternative and innovative rock band that sings in broad Norwegian dialect can come, not only in our home country Norway, but also on the other side of the borders. You almost need to have been there in order to believe it, when the frontman, Janove, at any point in time during the two hour long concert puts down his microphone and the Danish audience takes over the singing!
The recording was done at Vega in Copenhagen during the 30th and last concert of the European tour in the fall of 2005. The setlist fit like a glove and the extremely dedicated Danish audience was in ecstasy.
Vega is an old theater, allowing for an audience of 1500 people on two stories with a gallery. "We have done our top five best concerts in our career at Vega, so that's why the live album should be from there", singer and frontman Janove Kaizer says.
Live at Vega will contain 9 tracks from the last album Maestro that currently is close to platin status, together with the best of both Ompa Til Du Dør and Evig pint.
It was as a live band that Kaizers reached their sensational breakthrough in the late summer of 2001 with the most sold debut album of all times in the genre alternative rock in Norwegian. 100000 copies of the album Ompa Til Du Dør were sold and the success was due only to the enormous live show, presented with the biggest authority and natural un-Norwegian self confidence. And the band went on the road and played about 150 concert in the following year. With about 200000 records sold, distributed over 3 releases, and sold out tours here at home and on the continent, Kaizers Orchestra is a phenomenon and an experience totally beyond the usual.
