Happy new year! =:-)
I wasn't online for two weeks, and suddenly there was a lot happening in the Kaizers world... =;-) First, Kaizers looked back at the last decade, which was very successful for them, obviously (here's the English version on kaizers.no). And then they surprised everybody by announcing that they would play as special guest at this year's Eurosonic festival! They played a regular concert there on January 14, and a day later, they did a short gig for invited guests only. There's no info about the second concert so far, but at the first one, Kaizers played three brand-new songs: "Philemon Arthur & The Dung", "Fem takt filosofi", and "Sju bøtter tårer er nok Beatrice" (source). You can check out a short clip from "Sju bøtter tårer er nok Beatrice" here - and hopefully, parts of the other songs will turn up on YouTube in the next days.
And if this wasn't enough, Hellraizer announced his second solo album! It's called "Monkey Do" and will be released February 1st (only in Norway, I assume), under the name "Uncle Deadly". In addition to Geir and his band, consisting of Christer Knutsen, Børge Fjordheim and Morten Abel, artists like Janove, Thomas Dybdahl and others appear on the album. It's easy to see why the Norwegian press started talking about a new Norwegian "super group" at once, but Geir disputes that and claims that this is more of a surplus project... A tour is not planned at the moment, but there will be some festival shows in summer. And until the album is released, you can already check out some songs on Facebook or MySpace. And read the translation of the kaizers.no news, of course. =;-)
