- Kaizers took a short concert break - but last weekend, they were back to start the festival season! Seems like Europe will get only one gig this time, at Heitere Open Air in Switzerland, but there will be lots of festivals in Scandinavia. As always, you can check out all known tour dates here.
Kaizers came up with a special idea for their gig at Norwegian Wood: They'll leave it to a fan to compose the setlist for the concert! You can find all information about this here (in Norwegian). Summary: Put together a playlist of 50 minutes in Spotify and send the link to kaizers@norwegianwood.no. And then cross your fingers that Kaizers like it! The winner will receive a festival pass and will get to meet the band - in addition to the setlist being played, of course.
As mentioned, the festival season started last weekend. On Friday, Kaizers played in Drammen (report on dt.no), and on Saturday they played in Bryne (report on jbl.no). To conclude the weekend, there was a charity concert in Hundvåg on Monday, exclusively for students who support Kaizers Orchestra's UNICEF project to build a school in Rwanda (aftenbladet.no).
In their latest news bit on kaizers.no (English translation), Kaizers Orchestra let us know that in addition to the festivals, they will also work on Vol. III this summer. Not only will they record the missing parts with Stavanger Symfoniorkester, but they will also go to Budapest to shoot music videos for two of the Vol. III songs. Now, who's curious about that?
And by the way, talking about Vol. III: The concerts at Oslo opera in January are not sold out yet! So if you didn't get any tickets yet, you still have a chance to buy some! In addition, there are plans for a concert in Stavanger as well, and maybe one in Bergen.
And if all these news weren't enough yet, here's another one: According to Platekompaniet, there will be another book about Kaizers Orchestra in October! It will contain photos by Paal Audestad and Terje, plus a foreword by Janove and some texts by journalist Geir Rakvåg. In addition, there will be an exhibition at Galleri Sult in Stavanger.
