- Yay, summer is finally here (at least in Germany) - and for Kaizers Orchestra, this means festivals, festivals, and festivals! They started their festival season last weekend already with a festival in Denmark, the only festival abroad and therefore the very last concert outside of Norway before the band hiatus. If you want to know which songs Kaizers are playing at the festivals, check out the setlists on Facebook; of course I'll continue collecting pictures of the setlists there throughout the summer. And if you have a photo, please send it in! Of course you can also send it via Facebook or Twitter.
Right after the last update, there were some rather bad news: the opera DVD is delayed a bit longer. The release is planned for August 15 now. You can get all the information on the pledge website. Good news however for the "Accidental Rockstar" movie - the fundraiser was successful, so we can look forward to the movie now!
Today, there was some information about the support bands for the "Siste Dans" concerts. The Real Ones will support Kaizers at their last three concerts in Stavanger (September 12 - 14). For the concerts in Trondheim (August 24), Bergen (August 31), and Stavanger (September 6), Kaizers are looking for an upcoming Norwegian band as support, via the Local Heroes program. Any Norwegian band can apply as support band and take part in a voting. For each of the concerts, Kaizers will then select one band from the ten bands with the most votes as their support. And at the very last concert on September 14, we'll get a special treat: das Kriegsensemble. That band came into being rather accidentally when the Blitzregn exhibition (featuring photos by Paal Audestad and Terje Kaizer) was opened in Trondheim. Terje and Janove were present at the opening ceremony, and they loved what they heard - because "Das Kriegsensemble" played Kaizers Orchestra songs. In German ...! Later that night it was decided that Kaizerecords will release a Kriegsensemble album. The album with the titel "Die verloren gegangenen Aufnahmen zwischen 1929-1933" (The lost recordings between 1929-1933) is scheduled for release August 24. It will be release as vinyl and download. You can read more about the festivals, Local Heroes, and Kriegsensemble on kaizers.no - only in Norwegian up to now, but Kaizers plan to publish the news in English as well. That's why you only get a short summary here; it doesn't make sense to do the work twice (like last time *grr*). So, let's wait for the official translation ...
