- Big cat, big bag - and big news today! At the end of January, Janove will present some new music. "Regnbuen treffer oss ikkje lenger" ("The rainbow doesn't hit us anymore") is the name of the new single that Janove will perform live at the Spellemann show on January 30, 2016. To celebrate that, the Spellemann organizers have reserved a part of the arena specifically for Kaizers resp. Janove fans; you can buy your tickets here.
Some information about the new single is already available on the new website www.janove.no and in an interview with VG. According to that, the music will be as rhythmical as usual, with a massive and catchy chorus, but at the same time more modern and more influenced by Janove's favorite music, thus rap, hiphop, and RnB. As the title indicates, Janove will continue to sing in Norwegian, and he also sticks to telling a story in his songs. According to VG, his new music tells a love story about a young couple. She's from Paris, he's from St. Peterburg; they fall in love with each other and with dance. They are torn apart and concentrate on perfecting their dance, and later as grown-ups, they accidentally meet again - and fall in love again. But this time it is the opera manager, their common boss, who's in the way.
We'll get to hear how that sounds at the end of January! And what does this mean for Kaizers Orchestra? Well, the statement in VG sounds like the status hasn't really changed: "No one knows what will happen in a couple of years. Maybe it will be tempting to gather the gang again. Who knows?"
