Janove's new single "Hengtmann" is out now! You can check out the translation of the lyrics here - thanks a lot to Lena for great help! Janove is also heading out on another club tour - see the tour dates.

But there's quite a bit more interesting music out there at the moment than "only" Janove solo. Anybody interested in musicals? =:-)
  • Musical number one is "Det tusende hjertet" in Stavanger, written by Tore Renberg with music by Janove Ottesen. The musical actually premiered in 2007, but it's back this year! You can find more information and the link to buy tickets here - and even though the musical is targeted towards kids, it's surely a lot of fun for everyone. I only know the music, and the songs are awesome!
  • In case you prefer high literature to a kids' musical, you should travel to Kristiansand instead! There you can see "Sult1", a musical loosely based on Knut Hamsun's novel Sult ("Hunger"). But in a modern hip hop version about the hunger for clicks, likes, and attention - so maybe not sooo high literature after all. ;-) And what does that have to do with Kaizers? Well: Geir Zahl is responsible for the underlying music! More information is available here, and you can get tickets here. "Sult1" will premiere on November 10.
  • And last but not least, as a little reward for everyone who's still reading, here's some information about THE musical we're all waiting for! Janove and Geir are diligently working to make the Kaizers musical happen, and there's quite a bit of progress to report!
Of course, it's all still work in progress, but the first act is already done, and they composed new music for some of the scenes. The current estimate is to have the full musical finished at least on paper about half a year from now. To achieve that, Janove and Geir are working with some people who know the business inside out: playwright Christian Siméon, director Ladislas Chollat, and Michael Gregorio, a well-known French actor who will play the role of the devil.
All in all, the artistic/creative process is going very well and everything looks great. But of course, there's a bit more uncertainty about the practical setup. When it comes to investors and financing, Janove and Geir can surely have some input, but they won't be the ones that take all decisions, so all predictions have to be taken with a grain of salt. But currently, everything looks really positive! So let's cross our fingers that the musical can premiere in the ambitious way they are planning: namely as a big-time show in Paris in the fall of 2019!
Yes, in Paris. Which means: in French. So what are you waiting for? We have two years to learn French!
