OK, I’ll really cut it a little shorter today, I’m not in the mood for writing today… =;-) Which doesn’t mean the concert was bad – it definitely was not! It’s about the same range as the concert in Brussels yesterday, which means not quite as good as Cologne, but not too far from it either. From a musical point of view, it wasn’t that good yesterday – there were several wrong tones and weird sounds, but that’s just the way it is with live concerts – and the atmosphere on stage was really good, and that’s something that is always contagious.

First the really good news: The Firebird is alive again! Killmaster managed to destroy it almost completely, but Elvis is the guitar god and fixed it, so now it is whole again except for some marks in the paint… thus a happy ending after all.

It was the first time I actually could see Micke from Sweden, ’cause I was standing very far to the side. There wasn’t much new though, except that the king of Sweden rang him up in the middle of a song to have him come and kill some rats… =;-)

The setlist was the same as in Brussels, thus KGB, Container, Bøn fra helvete, Veterans klage, Ompa til du dør, Senor Flamingos adieu, Blitzregn baby, Kontroll på kontinentet, De involverte, Jævel av en tango, Dr. Mowinckel, Katastrofen, Di grind, Dieter Meyers Inst., Maestro, encore Gypsy Finale.

In the middle of the concert, the Jackal had to change his shoes because he lost one of his heels. So he got his “lucky shoes” instead, “in red – just like my nose”. *g* Colors were also important during Hellraizer’s introduction, when the Jackal noticed that the towel was of exactly the same color as Hellraizer’s shirt – “this has never happened before!” Then there were some announcements that I already knew from Brussels – for example the one with the 958 Elvisses they casted, and that only the one in Asia was better – but he had the wrong color. And, what I forgot in the report from Brussels – the best intro ever made is from De involverte, and the Jackal lifted up his jacket on his finger and let it fall down right at the moment the song started. Uhm… I think, that is only impressive if you see it “in real”, not in a report. *gg*
The second best intro is the one for Katastrofen, as the place for the best one is already taken… =;-)

Just before Dr. Mowinckel, Hellraizer asked us if we were nervous. But – “no need to be, don’t worry, I’m a professional!” And in general, they are very nice and comforting people… “group hug!” *lol* Then “Arrre you rrrrready? (This was my German accent!)”, and then Dr. Mowinckel. And afterwards he pointed out: “See, there was nothing to worry about!”

Instead of “yeah” and “hell yeah”, we had to scream “ja” and “ja klar” this time. *g* And, just like in Brussels: “Say ja!” – “Ja!” – “And what do you say now?” – “Ja klar!” *rofl*

Hach, a really nice concert. Even though I can’t think of anything else now. *g* The audience was really loud, but actually the screaming girls to the right of the stage were kind of annoying… Seems like the guys on stage were a little irritated by that as well. =;-)

Then, meeting some people, some nice talks… a good night’s sleep, and off to Mannheim!
