Sorry - nur auf Englisch...Gypsy musical with a symphonic orchestra of 64 people and a week-long tour premiere at Oslo Opera in January. Here you have the plans for the last part of Kaizers Orchestra's "Violeta Violeta" trilogy.
- We are prepared to be both praised and hated, Janove Ottesen explains to VG.
He is very aware that this huge and ambitious opus - which will be out as a record in November and will be performed live for the first time at Oslo Opera early in 2013 - can divide the faithful Kaizer fans. But he also feels very certain about what he has created.
- Half of the fans will probably love this and say it's the best we've done. For us, this is a bit back to the feeling that we had when we debuted in 2001. Nobody believed that they would like hysteric gypsy/uptempo pub rock, but we ourselves had a strong belief in it. And that was right! Now we'll also manage to present it in a way that ok, from now on you will like this!
"Violeta Violeta III" has been composed for symphonic orchestra from the first day, and this means that the record will contain anything but traditional verse/chorus pop songs.

- There won't be things on repeat, no. I didn't time the songs this time - the longest song is nine minutes. Every theme here is a small journey that takes you further all the time. You're dragged into the atmosphere immediately. This is a full-blooded gypsy musical in the rock genre, not all the best we can come up with from all of our career at the same time. Erlend Skomsvold made some enormously strong and good arrangements, and we have a strong belief that we'll be able to fulfill the Kaizerfans' wettest dreams, Ottesen says.
Janove Ottesen himself describes the first record of the Violeta trilogy as an archetypical Kaizers album, while the second contains the classical rock approach which they didn't really have before. Right from the start, it was clear that the third one should be considerably different from the rest of the band's catalog.
Very satisfied
- It's a great motivation to raise the bar up to a trilogy in an anniversary year. At the same time, we are very satisfied and humble about the response to three very different records in such a short time, and three different tours. The dialog with the audience has been good all the time, and it has been important for us to make clear that even if you attended a Kaizers concert last year, you're welcome to come back this year to get a completely different show, Ottesen says, before he announces a longer Kaizers Orchestra break next year.
-After the summer festivals in the summer of 2013, I think we'll concentrate on our own projects and take an incredibly long Kaizers break, maybe for some years. I have worked with this trilogy for six years, and this is an extremely long time for one project. But we won't end it, we'll just take a break for a while. We will continue until we get old, but we need to take some breaks inbetween.
