New music on the way! =:-D No, unfortunately no new Kaizers music, but early next year our stereos will still be busy!

First up is Janove with a new solo album. He did not sit back and rest after "Artisten & Marlene" was released, but kept making new songs all year. Which means that his new album is pretty much in the box already, and it's scheduled to be released in January of 2018. And the first single is just around the corner! Currently, Janove is playing hangman with himself (okay, with the help of all his fans =;-) ) to reveal the title of the song. Follow him on Facebook to join the game! And if you don't want to wait so long, go see him on tour in October and November!

But Janove isn't the only one with new music coming up! Skambankt just finished mixing their new album "Horisonten brenner" ("The horizon is burning"), which is scheduled for release in late January/early February. And talking of Janove: Guess who produced this album? =;-) According to Janove, "Horisonten brenner" will be "loud, hard, and beautiful", or, as Terje puts it, the album will have both hard and softer songs, but all in typical Skambankt fashion - "those who've heard it say that this is the best record we have ever made". You can check out a short live clip of the title song here, and soon we'll get to hear the first single of the album! It is called "Fremmed i en fremmed verden" ("Stranger in a strange world"), and Skambankt filmed the video for the single last weekend. Also Skambankt will be out on tour again, but we'll have to wait until the album is out. The tour is planned for February and March, and of course we'll get to see them at festivals next summer!

Time flies, and it's September 14th again - now it's been four years since Kaizers retired. Which means that we have cried four of our seven buckets of tears already ...

For most of you it might sweeten the bitter pill a bit that Janove released his solo album and is touring in Norway, and Skambankt are getting ready to ramp it up again as well. But sure, other music is nice, but it's not Kaizers ...

Accordingly, there's not much going on here on the fansite - but at least, throughout the last year, you could read through Kaizers Orchestra's answers to their fans. Now we reached the end of that Q&A ... Will there be another way to go back in time and remember the past again this year? Well, for sure! I looked through my video library and dug out a few ancient treasures. Unfortunately, some of them are in horrible quality, and for some I don't have the slightest clue where they stem from, but I'll put them on YouTube in the upcoming months! Follow the playlist Og alt me har er minner ... - it's pretty much empty at the moment, but it will grow. (At least if YouTube is nice enough to not take down all the videos because of copyright infringement ... cross your fingers!) And if you find some videos that should be part of this playlist, let me know. And now enjoy!

Janove's tour is almost over - and I finally got to see him in Trondheim. Here's my report!

It took a long time, but now they are finally online: The lyrics of Janove's solo album "Artisten & Marlene" with translations! Both in German and in English ... phew! As always, I'm thankful for all help and comments regarding translation errors or typos. And now, get going learning the lyrics by heart in time for the start of the tour this week!

It's out! Janove's solo album "Artisten & Marlene" was released on Friday. It's available on all the usual streaming platforms and of course available as CD and LP as well (for example, from cdon.com, Platekompaniet, BigDipper, and thegarden.no). You can find the lyrics on Janove's website and of course here - the remaining translations will be added as soon as possible.

Of course, there was quite a bit of media coverage in Norway around the release. Here's an overview (which will probably be updated the next couple of days; (+) indicates a pay wall):

The release date of "Artisten & Marlene" is approaching fast, and I thought that we all want to know a bit more about the album, right? So here you go! Here's a short email interview with Janove for you - enjoy!

I also got two small updates for you: I've added the newest concerts and festivals to the tour list, so that should be pretty much up-to-date. One date that is not in the list but that you might want to note down is February 10 - not only because that is the release date of the album, but also because Janove will be a guest on the Norwegian TV show Lindmo that evening. If you're interested in attending the recording of the show, you can still get tickets here (at least right now).

In just a bit over a month, we'll finally get to hear some new music by the hands of Mr. Ottesen again - and even though this here is a Kaizers fansite and Janove alone isn't Kaizers Orchestra, I assume that most of you guys won't mind getting a bit of information about Janove's solo album here as well, right? =;-)

So here are the current facts in a nutshell:
  • The album will be called "Artisten & Marlene". It will be released (in Norway) on February 10th.
  • It tells the love and live story of two dancers - I summarized some more details here a while ago. But to get the full story, we'll probably need to wait for the release of the album.
  • You can already preorder the album, for example at Platekompaniet or cdon.com. Both sell it as CD and LP.
  • The tracklist has been released as well:
    1. Marlene (Marlene)
    2. Verden Går Til Helvete (The world is going to hell in a handbasket)
    3. Spinner For Deg (Spinning for you)
    4. I Siget (On a roll)
    5. Perler & Svin (Pearls & swine)
    6. Aldri La De Tru De Er Bedre Enn Deg (Never let them think they are better than you)
    7. Et Hjerte Som Sloss (A heart that beat)
    8. Me Vokser Aldri Opp (We will never grow up)
    9. Mine Siste Berømte Ord (My last famous words)
    10. Om Me Går Ner (If we go down)
    11. Vår Uendelige Sang (Our neverending song)
    12. Regnbuen Treffer Oss Ikkje Lenger (The rainbow doesn't hit us anymore)
    13. I Natt Blir Du Fri (Tonight you'll be free)
    14. Trixing & Fixing (Trixing & Fixing)
    15. Det Ville Vært En Sensasjon (It would have been a sensation)
  • The first four singles have been released already; you can find the lyrics and translations of those songs here.
  • The playing time of the album is a full 71 minutes!
  • After the release of the album, Janove will go on tour - and in summer, he'll play at loads of Norwegian festivals. You can check out all the dates that have been announced so far here.
So it seems we have quite a bit to look forward to!
