Janove's new EP "Spindelvevriff" was released last week (on LP and digitally, no CD). You can find all lyrics and translations here!

Janove's new EP "Spindelvevriff" will be out on September 21, and up until then, he'll release one of the songs from the EP every Friday. The songs that have been released so far: I'll add the remaining links when they are released. Lyrics and translations will be up after Janove publishes the lyrics.

You can already preorder the EP, for example, from Platekompaniet, Big Dipper, or thegarden.no. Up to now there is no information about a CD, which indicates that there might only be a vinyl and a digital version.

Currently, both Skambankt and Janove are playing some summer festivals - but we won't have to wait too long to see them again after the summer! Skambankt already announced a Denmark tour for the fall, and the one Stavanger gig scheduled for November will most likely not remain the only one.

Now Janove announced another tour as well, titled "Spiderweb riffs". This time, he will be touring alone without a band and play his solo songs in a stripped-down acoustic version. We'll also get some explanations about the songs and theatrical elements. And in addition, Janove will release an EP this fall, containing five new songs and acoustic versions of "Marlene" and "Et Hjerte Som Sloss". You can read more about it here. Sounds really exciting!

Check out all the tour dates here.

Plans for March 2019 already? No?

Wait, just a second, don't panic - this is not about the Violeta musical (that one is penciled in for fall 2019 at the moment). But it's still about theater and music, more precisely music composed by Janove Ottesen. At the end of March 2019, the theater play "The Mute" will premiere in Stavanger. What is special about this play is that it doesn't use any words, but only acting and music. Or, as orchestra leader Gaute Aadnesen says: "The Mute is a love story told without retorts, without words, music is the language. The performance is hard to explain beforehand, but will be magically self-explanatory when you experience it live." You can find more information in the press release here.

Currently, three shows are scheduled on March 29 and 30, 2019. The first two are close to sold out already. Get your tickets here!

Friday night was a big night in Bryne (or maybe even for Bryne?) - the Kaizers square was officially opened! Except for Terje, who is currently on tour with Skambankt, all Kaizers were there. They received diplomas from the mayor, and in return, they gave away the first Kaizer poster that ever existed. A local band played before the ceremony, and afterwards, there was a light show. Of course media covered the whole thing, so here are a few links to videos and photos:

Tonight, the Kaizers square in Bryne will be officially inaugurated! NRK has published a few pictures already of the decorations on the square, including oil barrels, a lamp, and visual effects. Five of the ex Kaizers will be present at tonight's opening ceremony - number six will be on stage in Oslo at that time. =;-) More information is available in the Facebook event.
