I probably go to jail after this due to copyright infringement.
But before anyone sue me, perhaps I should introduce myself first. My name is Ken and I'm from Indonesia. I've been a fan of Kaizers for only a couple years now. A friend of mine introduced me to them via youtube. It was their song Begravelsespolka that I first listened to, which also a music video of them that I first watched. I fell in love with them immediately. The song was haunting. It was beautiful. It was hauntingly beautiful. So when my friend gave me Hjerteknuser, I already know that I was hooked.
As you can see, though, my country is very far, far away from Norway. Every music store I'd visited had never heard of Kaizers Orchestra before and thus had never stocked any of its albums. This limits my chance to own any Kaizers knick-knacks. I could try to buy it online, of course, but I don't have a credit card. Besides, I'm only a poor college student after all.
And as you may have guessed, the chance to have Kaizers hold a concert in Indonesia was rather small. In fact, it's none at all now, since they're having a "break" for an unknown period of time.
In order to cope with this I decided to make some designs using Kaizers' lyrics to be printed on t-shirts. Lyrics like "du a min hjerteknuser" or "denne polka, denne får du aldri nok av" or "av denne sangen er du kommet, til denne sangen skal du bli." (Being the first two songs that I heard from them, these two became my favorites.) And these t-shirts are for my own personal use only; so if one day someone sees me wearing one of the t-shirts and asks me who or what Kaizers is, I can proudly answer, "You came from this song, you will become this song---that's Kaizers Orchestra."
I'd tried to send an email to Kaizers, asking for their permission to do this. But since they'd started their break, their email was no longer active. That's how I took a huge risk and decided to make one t-shirt without their concern. My friends told me, "as long as they don't know, you're safe." So I'm afraid after telling you this, I am now officially under the mercy of the law.
(Though, you're probably wondering why I risked myself and tell you all about this. Well, because you asked us to write about our best memories of them and the only best memory that I have about Kaizers is this t-shirt thing... so help me god...)
