Wonderful moments on tour:
- The glow in the eyes of those people who just experienced their first-ever Kaizers concert.
- The glow in the eyes of those people who just experienced their "best Kaizers concert ever".
- The feeling to be not someone who's "always there" and bothering everyone, but "part of the family".
- Nothing but kind words from the band and the crew, no matter how exhausting the night was.
- Completely absurd and dry jokes and puns.
- Surprisingly little envy and jealousy among the fans, and the little there was was either knowingly and controlled (with the thought in the back of the head that it is completely stupid), or so dumb that I don't care about it at all.
- Sudden "cake orders". *lol* Pretty blunt, actually, but well, it was perfect after all.
- "Where is backstage here?!?" -Well, how are we supposed to know? *lol*
- Going to a concert somewhere on the other side of Germany, and knowing half of the audience...
- Totally crazy signings - and a band who always plays along with a smile.
- Brawls at the bus. *g*
- Crazy coincidences. For example to meet in a gigantic hall just before the concert starts. Or ending up in exactly the right street without having a map. Or whatever.
- The neverending hunt for a picture of the setlist - "you can also GET the setlist, if you want" - "no, I don't want it, I just want a photo!" *gg*
- A sudden and unexpected smile from the stage.
- A constant smile from behind the stage (even though you feel under observation all the time *g*, but it's so much better than an irritated and suffering expression on the face...)
- A total chaos of languages, ending in everybody talking in whatever language - somebody will probably understand.
- As a result from that, everybody breaking out in laughter when suddenly the last "non-German-speaking" listener leaves and several people stop at exactly the same time and then switch to German.
- "This is my publisher, he wants to know if there's a market in Germany for the Kaizers book" - uhm, how am I supposed to know? But verrry cool anyway... *g*
- Geoff Berner is a very nice guy when he is sober. Sadly, he isn't sober very often.
- Communication without words.
- Small talk after concerts, even though I'm a total zero when it comes to small talk (and the same is true for certain rockstars *cough*)
- Several parties and pub visits before and after the concerts.
- No "tour hole" up to now - but well, there's still the Oslo concerts coming up, and maybe Skambankt.
- And of course the amazing concerts, but I already wrote that somewhere else. *g*
Wonderful people on tour:
- who don't know me at all but just take me in for a night anyway and give me all I need.
- who don't care about concerts at all, but still are the best hosts and know exactly how they can do something really good for "poor people on tour".
- who suddenly appear after a concert and are praising the site/the reports/the photos/the adventure game/whatever with the kindest words.
- who evolve from "some fans" to friends during the tour, in the course of a few days.
- who are extremely fair and care about _everyone_, no matter, what they themselves think or judge.
- who give each other "the world" as a present...
- who endured all my moods (and those were many, as I never really got enough sleep *g*) - nobody nagged me even once, even though there were probably several times where they should have.
- who can completely understand that you want to be at the concert at least an hour before the doors open, even if nothing at all is happening at that time - but who can also stand it if it's just not possible.
- who stay with me after the concert even though they aren't interested at all, but I can't just leave directly after the show, it's impossible.
- who cannot understand all this about "going on tour" but want to hear me talk about everything anyway and have an open ear for all my stories.
