Everybody who thinks that rock is best in a book can now start looking forward. The book about Kaizers Orchestra is now in print. It will be in the book stores October 18.- Yes, now there is nothing left I could do. Now it's neck or nothing, Jan Zahl says. Geir's brother and the photographer Paal Audestad were in Bryne to see the book about Kaizers Orchestra go into print.
- And the printing couldn't take place at any other place than at Bryne offset, of course, the author pair says.
- Why not?
- You probably don't know this, as you are probably really bad at things regarding the subject of printing, but the best printing company in Norway is situated in Bryne, Jan answers and shows his fingers, black of printing ink and chemicals.
Additionally, he mentions that it is logical that the book about Kaizers Orchestra is printed in Bryne, as this is the place where it all started.
- It was in Bryne, or to be more precise in our basement, where Janove - whose name was Jan Ove at that time - and Geir started to play together. It was here where they had their first concerts, in front of seven close friends and a few siblings.
- How did it sound?
- It sounded pretty strange.
So Jan has followed his little brother for about 30 years, and the childhood friend Jan Ove for about 23 years. But he only took notes for the last five. And as, apart from this, Paal has been around the band with his camera on stages, backstages and in tourbusses for four years, the two believe they have enough material now to fill a whole book with 272 pages.
- The book will be huge and fancy. As it is also about geography in parts, it will be in atlas format.
- Geography?
- Yes, there must be some maps, travel routes and European cities when a band is trying to take control on the continent.
- There has been some confusion about in which dialect the book will be, can we get a final confirmation from you now?
- The book is written in nynorsk.
Kaizernews got to sneak-read and can only say: look forward!
