Rogaland county gives out this distinction every year, which - apart from fame and honor - consists of a statue from artist Kristoff Nasilovski and 30 000 kroner. The prize will be rewarded on Tuesday, December 11.

The justification states the following: "Kaizers Orchestra have achieved a reputation as one of Norway's best live bands. They are known both nationally and internationally and have marketed Rogaland and the Jæren dialect in a good way."

- It is a bit peculiar that we get Bragdpris exactly in the year where we have been least active, but the jury probably noticed that we have worked patiently all the time, put stone on stone, just what the Jæren people are known for, Geir Kaizer says.

- You and Janove are in LA and will start mixing the new album on Monday. And this actually is an exploit that some ordinary Jæren guys manage to come to such a level, in such a tough business, that they record an album in Berlin and then mix it in LA?

- To poke a bit in the geographic things here, only the Kaizers front row is from Jæren, the backing row has one from the Bergen area, one from Husnes and one from Bø i Telemark, so we take the district votes serious here. Apart from that, it is really nice to be noticed and to get prizes and such. Kaizers is a band that clearly works best WITH fans, so we are very happy about the commotion and that people are following what we are doing!

- Do you have a lot to do in the mixing phase now? How many songs will be mixed and how many will end up on the album?

- Janove is a typical list-person, so currently there is a huge amount of alternatives for the number of songs, the order and the feeling of the album. We recorded 18 songs, and before the mix, we were thinking about 12 or 14 tracks on the album. We still are a no-hit-wonder, and we have an even collection of songs to choose from, so it will depend on what works on the album and what we feel most comfortable with. We don't have much time to find out about that, as the record will be out in February already, fortunately!

More precisely February 18. Then you can find out for yourself whether Kaizers Orchestra managed to achieve a new exploit.
