As it says in the program: "Kaizers Orchestra built up a successful career by being one of Norway's decisively best live bands, and this concert is a good example for the band's magic on stage. Frontman Janove Ottesen and the rest of the Kaizers members delivered a dynamic concert that rocked the whole Middelalderpark."Lydverket reworks this summer's festival experiences and uses its airtime to show some selected concerts this fall. The first band up is Kaizers Orchestra and their performance on the main stage on the first day of this year's Øya festival. A concert that the band itself spoke warmly about afterwards.
- Yes, I think this was a nice gig, Geir Hellraizer Kaizer says.
- How do you like it if your concerts are shown on TV afterwards?
- Hm. For me personally it's a bit of both. To see a concert on TV compared to being present at the concert, that's two completely different things. It's like watching Serengeti on Discovery Channel instead of traveling there yourself and feeling the earth between the toes. But true, not everybody can go to Africa, and so it is great to have Discovery. And then you get a bit up tight if it's your own band also. If the sound and the camera direction is good, it can be great, and if not, then this is bad for a band that bases itself on a good live reputation. We haven't been involved in the sound mixing here, but we'll hope for the best.
- Will you personally watch the concert?
- We are in Stavanger at the moment, and I have a date with our backline technician Petter to go and see a garage band at Folken that night, so no, probably no Kaizers TV night for me. Janove will probably see it, so he can report whether we made fools out of ourselves or not.
Will Kaizers make fools out of themselves or will they keep what the program promises? Find out yourself, tune in on NRK1 on Wednesday, September 10, 11:15 pm!!
